Donegal Town has been announced as the winner of the 'Foodie Towns 2019' award.
The award is given to towns or villages where tourism is a primary part of the local culture and economy.
The competition is run by the Restaurants Association of Ireland and the winner is decided through a combination of votes from the public and points from a judging panel.
Meanwhile 'The Food Coast Donegal' came third in the Foodie Destination 2019 competition.
Project co-ordinator of the 'Taste of Donegal' and one of those behind the application for the Foodie Towns competition, Mary McGettigan says winning the competition is a recognition of high standard of food available in the area.
