Commemorative events in memory of Private Sean Rooney to be held in Lebanon

A number of commemorative events are to be held in the Lebanon in memory of Private Sean Rooney.

The series of memorial runs will take place on the 14th of each month in Camp 2-45. A larger ceremony in memory of Private Rooney, who was from Newtowncunningham in Donegal, will then take place in November.

He was killed in December 2022 when a vehicle he was in came under attack while on a peacekeeping mission.

All proceeds raised will be donated to Rainbow Ireland, and donations can also be made online via a GoFundMe page.
