Drug and alcohol support groups will be allowed to stage meetings

It's been confirmed that drug and alcohol support groups based in the North West such as AA, NA or Smart Recovery are not subject to the recently introduced regulations relating to indoor events, which limit attendees to no more than six people.

The Sligo - Leitrim T.D. and Minister of State for Public Health, Wellbeing and the National Drugs Strategy, Frank Feighan has confirmed to Ocean FM news that such groups are exempt from the restrictions.

The Sligo based Minister says the restrictions that restrict indoor events to no more than six attendees would impact on the operation of drug and alcohol supports groups.
