Sligo County Council has been told that illegal dumping is now at epidemic levels.
One and a half tonnes of rubbish was recently collected by council litter wardens along the Collooney bypass.
Meanwhile Cllr Sinead MaGuire says that just last weekend 40 bags of rubbish where lifted by volunteers in Strandhill.
Cllr MaGuire says more needs to be done now to curb the problem…….
