A Donegal-based minister is welcoming what he says is a commitment from Irish Water to invest €143m across the water network in the county, including schemes in the south of the county.
It includes €73m in water works and €70m in sewerage schemes.
Fine Gael's Joe McHugh was commenting following the awarding of a contract for a €19m upgrade to a 25km network in Letterkenny and Creeslough, benefitting 40,000 customers.
He says a €73m investment over the next four years will also cover works in Cashelard, Glenties-Ardara, Owenteskna-Kilcar and Pettigo.
He says a further €70m is earmarked for wastewater works in a number of areas in the county, including Killybegs, Bundoran, Glencolmcille.
