A €16 million euro upgrade of waste water treatment plants across county Sligo has been completed.
The project, which was a partnership between Sligo County Council and Irish Water, ensures the plants in Ballinafad, Grange, Strandhill and Tubbercurry are now fully compliant with the the EU urban wastewater directives.
Sligo independent councillor Marie Casserly says the upgrade could be transformative.
