€300m paid out to patients in compensation by Saolta Hospital Group over past decade

There's been a 200% increase in the amount of compensation payouts by the Saolta Hospital Group in 2022.

A total of €76 million in compensation was paid out last year, the ever highest amount recorded.

The Saolta Hospital Group includes Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals along with Mayo, Roscommon Galway, Merlin Park and Portiuncula University Hospitals.

A total of €324 million has been paid out since 2013.
