€5 million has been announced for mental health supports for students.
Just over €430,000 is to be sanctioned to Atlantic Technological University, including the two campuses at Ballinode and St Angela’s.

The funding is said to be an important investment in the wellbeing and support of students across the North West.
The Government has provided €20.9 million to Higher Education Institutions since 2020 which has allowed universities recruit additional Student Counsellors, additional Assistant Psychologists. 77 were hired last year alone.

The funding this year is set to reinforce these services in college campuses.
