Earthquake measuring 2.4 magnitude hits Donegal

Earthquake measuring 2.4 magnitude hits Donegal

An earthquake was recorded in south Donegal last night.

A tremor measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale hit the Donegal Bay area at 11.58pm last night.

It's understood the Irish National Seismic Network in co-operation with the Geological Survey Ireland detected the incident and are carrying out an investigation.

Dr Martin Möllhoff is Director of Seismic Networks at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
