Fianna Fáil election candidate Edel McSharry has told Ocean FM she is out of contention for a seat in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency.
The party had harboured some hopes at the start of Day 2 that she might win a second seat, alongside running mate Eamon Scanlon.
However, McSharry told Ocean FM on Sunday afternoon that there was no longer a viable path in terms of transfers for her to get the fourth and final seat.
Counting of votes in the Sligo-Leitrim constituency is continuing at the Clayton Hotel.
