A Donegal rights campaigner is calling on all general election candidates to stand up to others who become, what he described as, discriminatory or racist.
Hugh Friel, a health and development worker at the Donegal Travellers Project, is also asking candidates to visit Traveller support centres in his county and in Sligo.
He pointed out that in one day last month in Donegal, 1,500 signatures were collected in support of a campaign for stronger hate crime legislation.
