A Donegal TD has reiterated that giving electricity credit to every household in the country is not the way forward.
2 point 2 million electricity account holders are being thrown a lifeline by the government as the first of three 200 euro ecredits kicks today.
A total of 600 euro in credits will be paid out over the next six months in an effort to offset spiralling energy costs.
The second and third payments will be paid in January/February and March/April.
But Independent TD Thomas Pringle believes that there are many households who are well off and don't need the payment as much as others and maintains that more should have been given to those who needed it more:
