A man in his late 20's has been arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 after Gardaí seized Cannabis with an approximate value of €227,200 in Charlestown on Sunday, 11th December.
As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí from Tuam and Swinford with Mayo Divisional Drugs Unit and the Armed Support Unit conducted the search of a domestic residence in the Charlestown area.

During the course of the operation, a grow house containing cannabis plants valued at €227,200 (pending further analysis) was discovered.
Investigations are ongoing.
