A number of candidates contesting June’s European elections in the Midlands North West will gather for a public meeting in Killybegs tomorrow evening.
Ten of the candidates will attend the meeting at the Tara Hotel, which will be focused on fishing issues.
The candidates will be asked to share what they will do for the fishing sector should they be elected to the EU Parliament.
Candidates confirmed to attend include sitting MEPs Chris MacManus (Sinn Féin) and Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan (Independent) alongside Senator Lisa Chambers (Fianna Fáil), Dr Brian O’Boyle (People Before Profit); James Reynolds (The National Party), Hermann Kelly (Irish Freedom Party), and Peter Casey, Saoirse McHugh, Michelle Smith, and John Waters (all non-party).
The event is co-hosted by the Irish Fish Producers Organisation, Killybegs Fisherman’s Organisation and the Irish Fish Processors and Exporters Association.
