More needs to be done to combat homelessness and those on the cusp of eviction in Sligo.
That's according to People Before Profit Cllr Gino O'Boyle who says he has been inundated with people who are told to leave where they are living and have nowhere to go.
It comes as the Transport Minister says provisions will be put in place to protect renters when the eviction ban expires.
Government has agreed the scheme will end as planned on March 31st, and be phased out up to June.
Cabinet is meeting today to discuss the ban, as well as a budget package for both tenants and landlords.
But Cllr O'Boyle believes the Government should extend the ban for two years, and for Sligo County Council to look at a large number of vacant homes right across the county which would be used for emergency housing:
