Failte Ireland to look into more cruises along River Shannon

Failte Ireland is to launch a report to look into ways of encouraging more cruises along the River Shannon.

They'll examine the development of the cruise hire sector in Ireland over the next ten years and how it can benefit the Hidden Heartlands region.

A study of cruise hire passengers in 2020 found over half were first timers and 90 percent said they would "definitely" do it again.

Fiona Dunne from Failte Ireland says it shows tourists heading for the Midlands are open to new and exciting experiences.
