Failure to pay covid bonus to contract workers 'a disgrace' - Harkin

The failure to pay the 1,000 euro covid bonus to contract workers is being branded a disgrace.

The extra payment was promised to healthcare staff earlier this year, in recognition of their efforts during the pandemic.

However, according to one TD, thousands of contract workers - like porters and cleaners - are still awaiting the payment.

Independent deputy for Sligo-Leitrim, Marian Harkin is calling on the Health Minister to deliver the payment by Christmas:
