Farmers to cause disruption in Dublin

Farmers from Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are expected to take part in the latest round of farming protests that are expected to cause serious traffic disruption in the capital today.

It's expected over 400 tractors will drive into Dublin city centre this afternoon as part of the protest.

It's a two-day demonstration, as part of farmer’s ongoing campaign over beef prices, carbon tax and other issues.

It's being organised by the Individual Farmers of Ireland, but isn't supported by the main farming organisations.

Gardaí are warning of major traffic disruption from ten o'clock this morning, with some road-closures in the city centre.

Organiser Daniel Long says people will travel from all over the country for the event
