Farmers urged to seek help in applying for schemes

The IFA in Leitrim says any farmers who want to claim Farm Assist should contact social welfare.

Farm Assist, young farmer payments and general schemes were discussed at a special meeting in Dromahair earlier this week.

Kevin Comiskey of Leitrim's IFA is urging any farmers with further queries on schemes or the new low interest farm loan should not be afraid to contact their local social welfare office or bank branch:
