A Sligo Councillor has expressed his concern with speculation that the Cath Lab Services at Sligo University Hospital is to cease at the end of the month.
Sligo Drumcliff Councillor Thomas Walsh has called for a permanent Cath Lab to be established at Sligo University hospital in the past
The provision of a full time Cath Lab in the hospital was also recommended 9 years in the HSE's North West Cardiology Review.
The existing limited Cath Lab service in the hospital is being provided by a mobile Cath Lab unit which operates just two days a week however there are now fears that this service may be discontinued.
Speaking to Ocean FM news Cllr Walsh says the speculation is worrying:
