Calls are being made on the local authority in Sligo to conduct a feasibility study to identify a suitable location for a skate park within the County.
Sligo Strandhill Councillor Sinead Maguire received widespread support for the motion at this week's meeting of Sligo County Council with various Councillors making calls for the attraction to be located at different sites in all the Municipal Districts.
Speaking to Ocean FM news, Cllr. Maguire says the popularity has risen significantly in recent years and the provision of such a centre would be of huge benefit to Sligo and would complement other sports such as surfing and mountain biking:
