The Fianna Fail selection convention for the Sligo Leitrim constituency is set to take place on the 27th of April.
The convention will decide who will run for the party in the next general election in this complex constituency which now includes south Donegal and a portion of North Roscommon.
The two sitting TDs Eamon Scanlon and Marc MacSharry are expected to be added to the ticket but they are both from the Sligo end of the constituency.
So a vote is expected to take place to determine a third potential candidate from the Leitrim north Roscommon end with Leitrim Cllr Paddy O'Rourke, Shane Ellis who is the son of former Senator and TD John Ellis and Roscommon Cllr Rachel Doherty all nominated.
Councillor Doherty has confirmed that while she has been nominated she will not contest on the night.
