Finbarr Filan to contest local elections

Another candidate has stepped forward to run in the local elections.

Local businessman Finbarr Filan has thrown his in the ring for the Sligo-Strandhill Municipal District.

Mr. Filan will run as an Independent candidate and will look to secure one of six seats.

Mr Filan previously contested the 2019 local elections, representing the RENUA party.

He has been involved with several community organisations such as Sligo Tidy Towns and Sligo BID over the last number of years.
