North West Senator says he feels he would add to Fine Gael's chances of ensuring two seats in the Sligo Leitrim constituency if he was added to the party ticket.
Boyle-based Senator Frank Feighan has asked party headquarters to add him to the ticket to contest the next general election whenever that may be.
He did not make it onto the ticket at the July convention where Sligo's Sinead Maguire and former TD and Senator from Leitrim Gerry Reynolds were successful.
Senator Feighan told Ocean FM's John Lynch this week that he's hopeful of being added to the ticket:
