Emergency services are attending a fire in the Deepwater Quay area of Sligo
Homes and businesses have been evacuated.
The fire is understood to have started shortly before four o’clock this afternoon at the Greenstar recycling Centre on Deepwater Quay in Sligo.
Several units of the Sligo Fire Service have been dispatched and the area has been closed off to traffic.

Homes and businesses in the area, including Homeland, have been evacuated.
Finisklin is closed to traffic and the public is being urged to avoid the area completely.
The AA is now advising that the fire is affecting visibility – and motorists in Sligo are urged to take extreme care.
