Gardai were called to attend an Irish Rail service following an alleged fire on the train last night.
Ocean FM News understands that a blaze broke out on board the 19.00 Sligo to Dublin Connolly service.
Gardai attended the scene of the incident after the train stopped at Boyle.
It's understood a person was removed after seating and flooring was damaged.
A fire extinguisher had to be used on the train to “prevent damage”.
