Local inland fishers are being met with a cap on the number of wild salmon that can be caught in the Easkey River.
The news was released by Inland Fisheries Ireland, who have announced that anglers will be issued with tags when fishing in West Sligo.
The tags are there for harvesters to tag caught wild salmon, to prevent over-harvesting.
Mary Walsh, Western Director of Inland Fisheries Ireland believes the tags will be “extremely effective”.
