Flooded/storm affected roads across the north west

Flooded/storm affected roads across the north west

The north west has bore the brunt of overnight weather conditions from Storm Bert.

 

A number of roads across the area are currently impassible due to fallen trees, debris and surface water.

In Donegal, Bridge Street in Killybegs is completely flooded.

 

Significant snow caused the Barnesmore Gap to be completely impassible earlier this morning, however, the road is now open again but there is still the risk of some icy patches on it as the snow thaws.

The road between Drumcarin to Ardfarna in Bundoran is currently closed due to flooding.

 

The road from Kinlough to Rossinver is flooded with a tree down near the Organic Centre.

 

The road from Belleek to Garrison is impassible due to flooding at the the Blue Bridge.

 

There is a serious oil leak on the Ballyshannon to Belleek road.

 

The R284 is flooded just outside the Sligo side of Geevagh village. It is also flooded at Mount Town between Conways Cross and Geevagh and at Callaghan's Pub.

 

The R293 in Ballymote is flooded at the football pitch, while the R293 road to Gurteen is flooded outside Gurteen.

 

Flooding is also blocking the old Galway road and St. Mary's Green areas of Collooney.

 

While excess surface water remains on the Riverstown to Drumfin Road and Drumfin to Ballymote road.

 

Surface water and debris also is impacting sections of the N4.

 

The Sligo to Hazelwood Road is badly flooded at McHale’s Sawmills.

 

A tree is down blocking the Calry Road to Sligo.

 

The Ballintrillick Road is currently impassible.

 

Flooding is impacting the Kilvarnet road while the road is not passable for cars at Killoran school.
