A former Government Minister has accused Fine Gael of being ageist over its appointment of junior Ministers.

 

Former Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan said senior party members are out of contention for promotion despite their experience.

He suggested that there should be quotas for older people at elections or in Cabinet appointments.

 

Two new Fine Gael junior ministers were appointed yesterday as the Cabinet signed off on the reshuffle.
