A former Sligo based Priest has been appointed Bishop of Galway.
Bishop Michael Duignan previously served as in the Cathedral Parish in Sligo and as Chaplain to ITSligo.
He is replacing retiring Bishop Brendan Kelly.
Bishop Michael Duignan will serve as bishop for both Galway and Clonfert, which he was appointed to in 2019.
