A former Taoiseach has described the late Tommie Gorman as being a "solution-driven reporter."
Writing in the Irish Independent, Bertie Ahern said the late Mr. Gorman wasn’t just worried about the story for the next bulletin and that "he wanted the background, to know how this might go and perhaps how it might be resolved."
Ahern, who served as Taoiseach as 1997 to 2008 was particularly keen to acknowledge the mark made Mr. Gorman in Northern Ireland and how he "gained the respect of people on all sides" from the likes of Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness, David Trimble and Peter Robinson.
Bertie Ahern also expressed his deepest sympathies to Tommie’s wife Ceara, to his children Moya and Joe, and to all his family, colleagues and many friends.
