Former TD Eamon Scanlon may enter election race

There's growing speculation that former Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon will enter the General Election race.

It's understood that Scanlon is giving strong consideration to throwing his hat into the ring, after losing his Dail seat in 2020.

Currently, Sligo councillor Edel McSharry is the party's only confirmed candidate in the Sligo Leitrim constituency, after being put forward at the party's selection convention in August.

Scanlon may now be added to the party ticket - a decision is expected shortly.
