A Donegal County Councillor has described a statement from Foróige regarding services in Killybegs and Dungloe as merely a play on words.
Foroige has today moved to give reassurances that they will continue to provide services to young people in the two areas.
The Irish youth organisation issued a statement following reports this week that centres in the Rosses and Killybegs were to close.
The organisation says, in line with Tusla's plans to extend the availability of Tusla funded youth services in Donegal, Foróige was requested to broaden the reach of their services to cover a broader range of areas in the county.
Foróige has also recognised that there has been upset and confusion locally in relation to this issue.
Cllr Michael Cholm MacGiolla Easbuig says that it will effectively result in a lesser service and that is totally unacceptable:
