Four drivers have been arrested in Sligo after they all failed roadside tests for the presence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Three motorists were arrested on suspicion of drug driving while one motorist was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
The arrests come as Gardaí from the Sligo-Leitrim Roads Policing Unit were conducting a checkpoint in Sligo on Tuesday.
Gardaí have previously warned that they will be out in force during the Christmas period.
Checkpoints are planned for a number of locations across the region, with Gardaí set to clampdown on various offences.
Gardaí are reminding the public never to drive under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.
