Fine Gael's Frank Feighan has been re-elected as a Sligo-Leitrim TD following Sunday night's 11th count in the Clayton Hotel.
He received 1,177 transfers from the distribution of Edel McSharry's vote, which moved him above the quota of 12,241.
Feighan was the sole FG candidate in the constituency - a strategy which has paid dividends for the party locally.
The remaining three seats have still to be decided with Sinn Féin's Martin Kenny well placed on 10,218, as is Fianna Fáil's Eamon Scanlon on 9,740.
The fourth seat is a shoot-out between sitting Independent Marian Harkin (8,306) and Independent Ireland's Michael Clarke (7,969).
Harkin has made a strong comeback in the last few hours, to lead Clark by 337 votes.
The distribution of Chris MacManus' (SF) votes, following his elimination at the end of Count 11, will now be crucial.
