Funding allocated for north west community centres

Significant funding has been announced to enhance and refurbish community centres in the north west.

Today’s announcement is part of the Community Centres Investment Fund to enhance and refurbish centres across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

Over €930,000 been allocated to centres in Sligo.

Among those is Tubbercurry Family Resource Centre which has received €100,000 to fund fire safety upgrades, upgrading accessible bathroom, kitchen, installation of lift and general renovations.

Six centres in Leitrim are to be in receipt of funding with Killenummery Community Centre and Rossinver Parish Old Schoolhouse to receive €89,000 and €66,000 respectively.

While in south Donegal, a number of projects are set to benefit.

Bundoran Community Centre will receive €100,000 and St Brigid’s Community Centre in Ballintra was awarded just under €72,000.
