Funding allocation to alter education landscape in the north west

A 90 million euro funding announcement for Technological Universities will have a massive impact on IT Sligo, GMIT and Letterkenny IT's alliance in becoming a Technological University.

 

That's according to the President of the Connacht Ulster Alliance of IT's , Dr Brendan McCormack.

The president of IT Sligo, GMIT and Letterkenny IT  says the latest investment marks an increase of over €153 million for education including a multi-annual fund of €90 million to assist the development and progression of Technological Universities.

 

Dr McCormack says the funds will enable the partner institutes to speed up preparations in becoming a Technological University that will significantly enhance the educational landscape both locally and nationally as well as providing greater choice and opportunity to students.
