Funding awarded for Sligo school extension

Funding has been awarded to Scoil Naomh Aibhe in Geevagh, Co Sligo, for an extension.

The extension to the school comprises of one mainstream classroom and one special education teaching room.

Sligo-Leitrim Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan welcomed the announcement which was granted under the additional accommodation scheme.

Deputy Feighan said, "This is great news for the School Principal, the Board of Management alongside the pupils and their parents and I want to congratulate the team involved in the application.

"The exact funding amount will be held back to allow a competitive tendering process that I hope can get underway as soon as tender documents are completed."
