Just over €288,000 has been allocated to Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim County Councils under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2024.

Over €100,000 has also been allocated to Sligo and Donegal County Councils under the ring-fenced thatch stream.

The grants allocated will be used to restore historic sites and buildings in all three counties.

Leitrim slightly received the most of the three, with €96,136 awarded in mainstream funding. Projects there include Mary Mother of God Church in Dromahair, Druminshin Glebe House in Carrigallen, St Mary's Church in Mohill and the Red Bank Restaurant and the Old Town Hall, both in Carrick-on-Shannon, receiving €15,000 each.
