The Cabinet has today approved 121 million euro of exchequer funding for the N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin road.
The project on the National Primary route will cost an estimated €140m to complete.
The news has been welcomed by Sligo Independent Councillor Marie Casserly and Sligo/Leitrim Fine Gael TD Tony McLoughlin
Councillor Marie Casserly says confirmation of the funding will come as a huge boost for the region.
