Funeral arrangements announced for Donegal crash victim

The funeral arrangements have been confirmed for a Donegal woman that died following a road traffic collision in Mayo yesterday.

Katie Doherty from Laghey was a passenger in one of two cars that collided on the N17 close to the Kilkelly turnoff just before 6 p.m. yesterday evening.

Three women and two children were taken to Mayo University Hospital to be treated for their injuries, Mrs. Doherty later passed away.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the collision to contact them.

Katie Doherty’s removal will take place on Saturday morning to St Bridget’s Church, Ballintra for 10 am Funeral Mass, with burial afterward in the adjoining graveyard.
