The funeral of a popular priest who was based in Rossnowlagh will take place later today in Westmeath.
Fr. Florian Farrelly lost his life in a road traffic collision in Limerick on Wednesday.

Fr. Farrelly is understood to have been on his way to Killarney to visit the friary there when the incident occurred.
Originally from Sutton, Co Dublin, John Farrelly joined the the friars in 1953 and received the religious name, Florian.

He celebrated his Franciscan Profession the following year.
His funeral mass will take place at Multyfarnham Friary, Westmeath, today for 12pm with burial afterward in the Franciscan Cemetery.
