Funeral to take place today of Margaret Gormley

The funeral takes place today (Monday) of the long-time Sligo councillor Margaret Gormley, who passed away on Friday.

She served for almost 40 years as an Independent member of Sligo County Council.

Her funeral Mass will take place at 12 noon in the Church of the Sacred Heart in Bunninadden, followed by burial in Cloonameehan Cemetery.

Rosaleen O’ Grady served on Sligo County Council alongside the late Margaret Gormley,  She says that she had many admirable qualities as a politician and always had the best interests of those she represented at heart.
