Future of small Libraries needs to be secured

Calls will be made at next week's meeting of the Manorhamilton Municipal District of Leitrim County Council for the local authority to guarantee the future of small libraries throughout the County.

Fine Gael Councillor Sean McDermott is expected to raise the issue at next meeting of the Councillors early next week.

The chairperson of the Manorhamilton Municipal of the local authority says small libraries are providing a vital service in many rural areas and he wants to ensure that their future is safeguarded for the future.
