The chairperson of the board of directors of The Model arts centre in Sligo is to run as a local election candidate for the Green Party.
Dr Blaithin Gallagher, a native of Mohill, Co Leitrim, is seeking a Leitrim County Council seat in the Manorhamilton Municipal District, in which she lives.
Meanwhile, Leslie O'Hora, a former general election candidate for the Green Party, is running again for a council seat in the Carrick on Shannon Municipal District.
