Gardaí in Cavan have completed a search at a site they believe is connected to the abduction and assault of Kevin Lunney.
They won't be releasing any further details though for 'operational reasons.'
Mr. Lunney, an executive with Quinn Industrial Holdings, was kidnapped this day last week and received life changing injuries.
Gardaí believe the scene near Ballinagh was where Mr. Lunney was severely beaten over a three hour period.
Sligo Leitrim TD and Sein Fein spokesperson on Justice Martin Kenny has called on the Gardaí and the PSNI to afford the Directors of Quinn Industrial Holdings the same protection that is being provided to those who find themselves at risk from crime gangs in cities such as Dublin and Limerick.
