Gardai across Sligo and Leitrim warn of bogus 'Revenue' callers

Sligo/Leitrim Gardai are urging people to be aware of bogus phone callers claiming to be from Revenue.

Callers claim there is an over payment by the individual they ring, and they then look for bank account details to, ostensibly, repay the money.

Gardai say the latest calls are coming from a '051' phone number, adding that more of these fraud calls are happening of late.

Gardai also say it appears vulnerable older people are being targeted and are urging people not to speak with unknown persons on unknown numbers..... and to NEVER give bank account details.
