Gardai in Carrick-on-Shannon say they are following a definite line of inquiry with regard to an inappropriate approach to two young girls in the town.
The incident, which is alleged to have happened outside a sports centre in the town, was reported to Gardai.
It's alleged that a man approached the girls on Saturday evening while they were waiting for a lift.
Gardai say they do not want to overly worry parents and they are treating this as an isolated incident.
Super-intendent Kevin English has confirmed to Ocean FM this evening that significant progress is being made in relation to the investigation.
