Gardai recruitment and retention needs to be addressed urgently - Kenny

A Sligo Leitrim TD says recruitment and retention in An Garda Síochána needs to be addressed urgently.

It comes as new figures show more than a quarter have been unable to progress in their careers after failing basic fitness assessments.

The tests have been in place since the creation of a degree in applied policing in 2014.
