Gardaí say a post-mortem examination will determine their investigations following the discovery of the body of a woman in unexplained circumstances in the St John’s Terrace area of Sligo on Monday last.
The woman (50s) was discovered at a residence shortly after 8:30pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
The scene was preserved for technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and the office of the State Pathologist was notified.
In a statement to OceanFM news Gardai have confirmed that the body of the woman was removed from the scene and taken to Sligo University Hospital for a post-mortem examination and that Investigations are ongoing at this time.
